How many times have you heard someone say that they were starting to eat only organic food? In the last ten years eating organic food has significantly become more popular. When these claims are made most people don’t understand what makes food organic, how much it is going to cost, and how hard it is to find a variety of kinds. There are so many articles that guide us in the wrong direction or make claims that are not supported by any reputable source. The blog I will analyze is found here: http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/should-you-be-eating-organic-foods.htm
The article begins talking about organic food versus food that is grown using conventional methods and then examining the differences between the two. She then gives background information about pesticides, hormones, antibiotics, and more. She tells how they are used in these processes and includes farm-raised animals. She does a great job of persuading the reader to switch to organic and backs her recommendations with statistics that are referenced in the blog. I like that there is a portion that makes the reader ask if it’s really worth it. She explains that if someone is healthy, has a busy lifestyle and is short on money, that a compromise of eating partially organic. The author does a great job of providing the information in a manner where the reader can see the benefits and have additional recommendations to make the switch or not.
