You Want Gains. We Want Profit.

The supplement industry has been expanding exponentially. Every time we watch TV there is an advertisement about a weight loss product that produces amazing results noticed immediately. Our culture wants results fast in any problem and our efforts are always placed on finding a product that makes everything easier. Unfortunately we overlook the fact that there is more to a healthy lifestyle then a pill. Eating healthy is the most effective way to loose unwanted weight and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Maybe we should think about cutting out weight loss pills? http://www.ucdmc.ucdavis.edu/medicalcenter/healthtips/2010-2011/07/20100729_diet-pills.html

Not only do these pills not work but most are not even monitored by the FDA. I’m being serious when I say that anyone can literally put anything in a bottle, make an obscured claim, and avoid all consequences if they put on the label “Not monitored by the FDA”. This problem is not only in small supplement stores but has trickled over into Walmart and GNC. Fortunately there are facilities that do monitor the contents and labeling of new products. Look for products labeled “Made in a GMP facility. Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) are the practices required in order to confirm the guidelines recommended by agencies that control authorization and licensing for manufacture and sale of food, drug products, and active pharmaceutical products. Look out for what you buy. http://www.consumeraffairs.com/news/gnc-target-walmart-walgreens-selling-bogus-herbal-supplements-ny-charges-020315.html
