False Copyright Strikes on Youtube (ft. Tea Spill and Manny MUA)

An unknown Youtuber, Tea Spill, made a video about the beauty guru, Manny MUA, who made a review of the Morphe foundation. From Manny’s original video, he has negative comments about the makeup product but recommends for his viewers to buy the product. Many people are confused and think that Manny’s review is fake and paid by Morphe. T.S. has done research and report in her video to see if Manny’s review is fake or not. When the video uploaded, it got popular and grabbed Manny’s attention. The beauty guru made a copyright strike on T.S’ video for the final result.

There is an issue with the copyright system that Youtube needs to improve on. There’s not one person are looking through the videos that claim that it’s copyrighted and done research if the video is under fair-use. There are many people who can bring a false copyright strike to any video and never get the repercussions.

There is no reason for Manny to bring a copyright strike on T.S’ video. Throughout the video is edited and being used under fair-use. T.S’ borrowed a few clips of the original video and edited for their own. If T.S used the whole original video without any editing, then there’s a reason for Manny to bring a copyright strike. It is strange to see that T.S’ video is the only one that has a copyright claim by Manny where there’s a lot of videos reporting and made about the same topic as T.S’.

Manny eventually releases the copyright claim and the video is up in T.S’ channel.
